New David Bowie Rockband Tracks on Xbox Live

xbox-live-7.jpgThree new songs from David Bowie were released this morning continuing the weekly update to the playable song list from Harmonix. “Moonage Daydream”, “Heroes” and “Queen Bitch” are now available for $2 a pop over Xbox Live or, if you want all three, you can opt to buy the three songs together for a discounted price of $5.50.  (Wow a discount of .50 thanks Microsoft)

Asteroids Blast Onto Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday

Xbox Live has announced the release of “Asteroids” and “Asteroids Deluxe” both will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 this Wednesday, November 28 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PST).

Xbox Live’s Fifth Anniversary Party

Microsoft launched the Xbox Live for the original Xbox console On Nov. 15, 2002. Now Microsoft is celebrating XBL’s fifth anniversary with a number of special events for 360 owners. Xbox Live will be hosting the events which include playing against the dev teams from your favorite games on Nov. 15 like Halo 3, Gears of War, Guitar Hero III and even Halo Wars in a Halo 3 match. Upcoming Xbox Live Arcade Games Announced

Microsoft has sent over a list of games that will be made available to download for Xbox 360 owners in the near future from their Xbox Live Arcade service. The press release did not have specific release dates for these games, some of which have been announced before. Not much on this list is very impressive if you ask me.

  • “N+”(Slick Entertainment and Metanet Software) – Play as an acrobatic ninja in this addictive action-puzzle platformer. N+ features inadvertently homicidal robots, stylish graphics, a level editor and intense multiplayer awesomeness.
  • “Screwjumper!” (THQ) – Players take the plunge in “Screwjumper!” and free-fall into the depths of the chaotic underworld as a Screwjumper, driving aliens back to their home world by destroying their precious mining equipment.
  • “SHREK-N-ROLL” (Activision) – Gamers join “Shrek,” “Fiona,” “Donkey,” “Puss in Boots” and 20 other twisted fairy tale friends in this hilarious puzzle game designed for ogres of all ages.
  • “SpongeBob SquarePants: Underpants Slam” (Nickelodeon and THQ) – In this quick and fun game, players search the kitchen of the Krusty Krab, the Flying Dutchman’s ship and the Armoury of Atlantis for 99 pairs of underpants.

New Forza Content On XBL

First up the 2007 SEAT Leon Cupra will be available as a FREE download to bolster the already extensive collection of “Forza” racers and for 400 Microsoft points, Forza fans can own the track taking laps in 10 great vehicles including a race ready turbo diesel (the Audi R10) and a low performance class inline 4 that’s an absolute tuner’s dream (the Honda Civic Si Coupe). Show your muscle with an American classic, the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T or turn it up another notch behind the wheel of the 415 horsepower, 8,400 rpm 2007 Porsche GT3 RS.

Behind The Scenes Shots and Short Film for ‘Halo’ Live Action Movie

The short film “Combat: Part I,” is available now, and will take viewers deeper into the “Halo” universe for a firsthand look at mankind’s struggle against the Covenant, a religious coalition of aliens that threaten the very existence of humanity. In Blomkamp’s interpretation of “Halo” you’ll see for the first time real UNSC soldiers piloting a Warthog in throes of combat, “Halo’s” most fearsome warrior caste, called Brutes, and weapons like the Plasma Rifle in action.

“Combat: Part I” is the second of three live-action short films that will be directed by Blomkamp, showcasing his vision of the now iconic “Halo” world. “Combat: Part I” will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on Tuesday August 28 in high-definition.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Tonight on xbox Live!

Activision, announced today that Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer beta will launch via Xbox LIVE on Monday, August 27 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Users can visit Charlie Oscar Delta (www.CharlieOscarDelta.com) at noon for their chance to receive a Token and experience some of the maps and modes available in multiplayer before the game hits store shelves the week of November 5th.

The beta will enable players to experience the most advanced and powerful arsenal of modern day firepower in customizable multiplayer battles from the world’s most treacherous hotspots. Players will be able to customize their experiences by utilizing new features including create-a-class, player-ranking and the new perk system. Gamers will also be able to ease seamlessly into multiplayer matchmaking with the party system or even join games in-progress. New recruits will enlist for battle across a series of action-packed maps and dynamic game modes to test their mettle in the ultimate multiplayer gameplay arena.

xbox Live to Deliver Music and Movies And Do It Faster

xbox_live_screen.jpgIn a shared announcement made Thursday, Microsoft said that Limelight’s knowledge in content delivery network services would boost the Microsoft’s online lineup by helping to deliver music, films and games by way of less congested Internet routes, reported Reuters.

While financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, Limelight, which is already offering similar services to Dream Works, Facebook and MySpace, will also be able to make the most of unnamed Microsoft technologies.

Challenger content delivery company Akamai presently works with Sony and Nintendo to distribute media content across the gaming networks.
