Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released in the 2nd Quarter of 2008, a push back from the previous “early” 2008 date. Here is the info:
KONAMI announced today that “METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS”, the latest in the METAL GEAR series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.
KONAMI had initially intended to release “METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS” this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title’s release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.
KONAMI will continue its efforts to make “METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS” meet everyone’s expectations.

Highlights on offer this year include the British Academy Video Games Awards, celebrating the best achievements in gaming; Videogames Live at the Royal Festival Hall, a concert for around 2,000 guests; The Virtual Worlds Forum, a lecture for up to 600 guests on the corporate opportunities in virtual worlds; DWS Legal Forum, examining the legal boundaries of the industry; The Science Museum: Quantifying Immersion in Games event; the Eurogamer Careers Fair and an ELSPA forum looking at the perception of gaming.

Coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for Xbox 360 this Wednesday 18th July at 09:00 GMT are joint head-liners “Bomberman Live†from Hudson Entertainment, and “Yie Ar Kung Fu†from Konami.
Hudson Entertainment has created “Bomberman Live†specifically for Xbox LIVE Arcade. It delivers high definition graphics, four-person local multiplayer and eight-person online multiplayer over Xbox LIVE. And to show there is no Bomberman out there quite like yours, players now have over 10,000 unique ways to fully customise their Bomberman.
