Ministry of Fun to Take Running With Scissors’
Video Game Classic On the Road

Tucson, AZ: After a decade of endless controversy, Running With Scissors’ POSTAL franchise has finally reached a level of mass-acceptance where you will soon be able to carry a version of the game in your pocket!

That’s right, it will soon be possible for gamers to Go POSTAL almost anywhere at any time (except maybe in church and movie theaters, but hey, that’s your call) as franchise overlords Running With Scissors (RWS) have licensed the game’s mobile rights to the Ministry of Fun, a Russian-based software publisher specializing in cell phone games.

“I am delighted that the agreement with RWS has been signed,” declared Anton Rouff, General Director of Ministry of Fun. “I am sure that together we will produce a fantastic game. POSTAL is an iconic franchise in the PC world and now there will be even more opportunities to play POSTAL. Wherever you go, you can enjoy a dose of anarchy, and a huge jolt of adrenalin! POSTAL fans the world over will be able to enjoy the non-stop game-play. We’re glad to be a part of the Running With Scissors’ POSTAL world!”

Running With Scissors always-on-the-go CEO Vince Desi, meanwhile, had just finished celebrating the completion of POSTAL—The Movie and was deep into development on POSTAL 3 when this deal went down. “What a year,” he exulted. “I’m going postal in my pants! Ministry of Fun has signed on to develop the POSTAL brand on all kinds of mobile devices, which makes this the ideal time to warn our fanatical fans – DON’T DRIVE WHILE YOU PLAY POSTAL on your mobile thing!”

You Blog = Fun, Relaxing - Blogging about your job = Workless (Remove “Priceless”)

Filed under Off Topic Rant on September 29th, 2007

A Nintendo contract employee found herself on the unemployment line recently over blog postings. The news of this was reported on Seattle alternative paper The Stranger, Jessica Zenner was let go by Mario & Co. on August 31st. Just when you thought it was safe to blog.

Zenner… can now be added to the ever-growing list of casualties in the workplace war on blogs… All they did was participate in the great American pastime: bitching about work

Zenner says she was never informed of any blog policy at Nintendo, but even so, she wrote under the pen name “Jessica Carr”—although she posted pictures of herself on her site—and never mentioned her employer by name. Somehow, Zenner’s bosses at Nintendo still found her site.

Calling All Future Game Designers

Filed under General news and Rants on September 24th, 2007

First off ask your self this one simple question. If I could create a video game to help me do a certain thing what would it be? Every day there is bound to be something blamed on video games and we go on with our daily lives to read it again the very next day.

A video game to help you pass your driver license test, and teach you the laws to assure we have safe drivers. I agree it does sound lame but growing up I knew about 6 people at the age of 16 who failed it the first time. How about balancing a check book video game, and the importance to manage money you have. Who would ever get Quicken for a teenager?

I might be searching for the stars but if video games make us “wild and crazy” why not have a video game that helps you do something you suck at. Apparently anyone can learn to shoot from games why not something positive.
