New Metal Gear Solid: And It Looks Like Candy. Eye-Candy.

Sorry it’s a tutorial-esque video, not a wham-blam, thankyee mam gameplay vid, but it still showcases the graphics capabilites in the PS3. I am sure Sony will be bending over in front of Konami for this latest offering, that will not appear on the 360.

Well, enjoy, the graphics are just… wow.

And read the comments on that page, the flaming is just HALARIOUS!

Christ On A Bike: HRH Elizabeth II Burns

Filed under General news and Rants on June 20th, 2007

So, Pakistan has started burning effigies of the Queen, in protest of Salmon Rushdie’s knighthood.

Can I just say….
Do they have to protest and burn EVERYTHING?

Normally i have a great understanding of Muslims and their attitudes and beliefs, but they are all being hysterical, i have kinda run out of patience.

I mean for Christs sake… do they have nothing better to do?

and this is the official governments of these countries also being hysterical and calling for all kinds of things. they are just idiots. do you ever see successful countries like India having a hysterical response to anything like this? No.

Thou Doest Not.

The Queen could wage war against them all, you have to remember. She is still the head of all the armed force. The Pakistan government even passed a resolution condemning it. Can you ever imagine The House Of Commons passing a resolution condemning a Iranian award? Nah. Much better things to do.

And in case there are any more questions, I am an Agnostic. Yet Christened.

Protesters over Knighthood

Jumper or Statue?

Filed under General news and Rants on June 18th, 2007

In London, several statues as part of an exhibition by an artist have been mistaken for suicidal people about to jump from tall buildings.

I can see the confusion, but I think it’s a great idea. The guy who made them must have had this in mind. Jumping is a silly way to go, after all. Climbing lots of stairs just to jump off? Nah. Much rather do it in an assassination attempt.

German student robs exam reports.

Filed under General news and Rants on June 18th, 2007

A student in Germany devised a robbery with 2 friends to have his report card stolen, so he wouldn’t have to repeat the year.

This reminds me of a stpry in Top Gear magazine, about a german motorist who killed a police officer after being pulled over, to escape a speeding ticket.

Maybe the Huns need to get a sense of perspective here. Huns? Can I say that? I love the germans. Very smart guys.

Anyway. It was a badly done robbery. I am sure the masks fooled no one…

Sony backs down over Resistance: Fall of Man

Filed under General news and Rants, ps3 on June 17th, 2007

So. Well. It appears to be over. Sony have apologised for the whole kerfuffle over Resistance: Fall of Man using Manchester Cathedral in their game without permission.

Pretty boring really. A lawyer probably screwed up somewhere, as Sony originally states that they “believed that they had obtained all necessary permission.” Sony says sorry, but won’t remove the game from the shelves (Why should they?), but cannot help but leave a parting shot to the church “We do not accept that there is any connection between contemporary issues of 21st Century Manchester and a work of science fiction in which a fictitious 1950s Britain is under attack by aliens.” I am with Sony on this one. Manchester’s gun problems are a bad things, but this is not even set in the modern day, it is set over 60 years ago. And they are shooting aliens. Aliens. Not parishioners or priests, but aliens. The poor protagonist probably took shelter in the Cathedral (a compliment?) but then was pursued. Ah well. It’s all irrelevant.

I was just looking forward to reading the case name The Church of England v Sony.

Ace out.

Don the Overlord’s illustrious armor, assemble a team of fighter minions and head off for a session of serious destruction in the once tranquil area of The Mellow Hills. Descend upon the unsuspecting populace and wildlife, use your loyal minions to gather life-force from the somewhat unwilling sheep, grow the size of your minion horde, and let the Halflings-gone-bad know there’s a new boss in town.

Make use of minion upgrades, including pumpkins as minion helmets, throw in some peasant intimidation and a show-down with the Guard Troll and you’ll have a taste of the havoc that a minion horde can wreak.

Experience the power of the mighty Overlord with the PC demo now available from www.codemasters.com/overlord. A demo is also available from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox™ 360. Overlord release date is June 29th for PC and Xbox 360.
